In the heavens, praise God from on high
All the angels and stars in the sky
Mountains, hills, and trees
Let them all bow their knees
For the Lord is exalted so nigh

There once was a song of great joy
For the Lord had worked wonders, oh boy!
He showed his salvation
To every nation
And all the earth sang to employ

There once was a king with great might
His love and faithfulness shone bright
He made a covenant strong
With his chosen one long
And his praise will ring out day and night

We were filled with joyful laughter
When our fortunes turned for the better
Our mouths were filled with song
For the Lord had done no wrong
Our hearts were filled with hope forever

There once was a land of great peace
Where love and faithfulness would not cease
Mercy and truth met together
Righteousness and peace kissed forever
The Lord’s goodness will never decrease

There once was a shepherd above,
Whose people he cherished and loved,
He heard their distress,
And answered their mess,
With mercy and grace from above.

Come, let us sing with jubilation
Praise and thanksgiving to our salvation
For the Lord is our rock
And the sea is His flock
Let us bow down in adoration

The Lord, our refuge and our strength,
To Him we turn in fear at length.
He is our fortress, safe from harm,
Our hope for future, free from alarm.
His wrath will come in righteous fire,
But He will give us peace and respire.
For all of us, His love remains,
And so our prayer to Him sustains.

There once was a man with a plea
He asked God to save him, you see
His faith in the Lord
Gave him strength to move on
And his prayers were answered, hurray!

I once heard an angel proclaim

The Lord’s name with a mighty acclaim

His glory and grace
so sweet to the taste
That no one could ever defame
