There once were some folks in distress
Who cried out in their great distress
They wandered and roamed
In deserts, no home
But God saved them from their mess

But God heard their cry
And brought them nearby
His love and mercy they did confess

In the presence of those who fear God
I will praise Him with all that I’ve got
Let the humble take heart
For the Lord does take part
And His glory will shine like a rod

There once was a man full of grace
Seeking guidance in life’s endless race
He looked to the Lord
For wisdom restored
And found strength in His loving embrace

There once was a God who would speak
To the earth, from the east to the peak
He called out to all
From the sun’s rise to fall
And His righteousness none could critique

God’s creatures, both great and small
He made them, and loves them all
The sea is so wide
And in it they glide
In wisdom, He made them stand tall

The earth and its fullness are His
And all who dwell in it is His
For He founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the rivers
He is the King of glory, mighty and strong

There once was a man who feared the Lord
And walked in His ways, never ignored
He worked with his hands
And tilled on his lands
And his family was blessed, they adored.

There’s nowhere I can go to hide
From God, who is always by my side
He knows my thoughts and my ways
And through all of my days
His love for me will never subside

There once was a king of great might
Who ruled with justice and light
He cared for the poor
And opened wide the door
For peace to reign day and night
