A wise teacher once said, to believe
Is to receive a reward that’s great
He who receives a prophet
Will be given a lot
And those who receive a righteous man, they too will be blessed with fate.

A disciple of Jesus named Peter
Was sent to preach in the street
And he was warned to be wise
For they’d encounter surprise
But God’s protection was sure and complete

A man who was filled with some woe
He saw crowds and his heart did glow
He said to his men
“Let us go again
To preach the good news where e’er we go”

The Great Commission was given,
To go and spread the Word of Heaven,
Go to the ends of the Earth,
And tell of the Savior’s birth,
To tell of God’s grace and love so leaven.

A man who was praying one day
Said, “My Father, hear what I say
Let me be humble and meek
When I pray, do not seek
To be praised for my piety’s sake

A lady who’d come from the tomb
To the disciples did loom
With a message of joy
The time of death destroyed
The Lord had arisen, they assume!

Salt, light, and city all do combine
To bring God’s glory, so divine
Let your good works be seen
By all who are keen
To live life in Jesus’s design

A man named Jesus, of Nazareth,
Was given a trial, they did not forget
The people all shouted, “Crucify!”
The cross was then carried, up Calvary’s hill
Where Jesus died, His death was to fulfill
