On the first day of the week
The disciples had gathered round
Jesus showed up and said,
“Peace be with you instead
Of fear, for I have been found!”

A prayer was offered to the Lord
To bring salvation for the horde
A life of truth and grace
A world of joy and praise
The Lord’s love was forever adored

A man named Jesus said one day
“If you love me, keep my commands,
For I will ask the Father
To send a Helper rather
That He may be with you hand in hand.

The Lord spoke of a mansion on high
Where we can go if we try
He said that He’d go
And prepare a place to show
Where His peace will never die

A Shepherd does lead his flock
To bring them to green pastures
He opens the gate for them
To keep them safe from disasters
His sheep, they know his voice,
It’s him they must obey
For He is their true guide
On the right path they will stay

On Easter morn a sight was seen
Jesus rose up from death’s keen
His disciples were filled with joy
As the Lord their hearts did buoy
For Jesus had risen to ascend

On Easter morn, the tomb was bare
Mary Magdalene was in despair
But then she heard
A voice that stirred
“It’s me, don’t be scared!”

A man named Jesus did come
To the Garden of Gethsemane
The soldiers they did surround
And Judas did give a sound
And Jesus was taken away in a spree

A man who was God’s own son
Had a plan that was full of fun
To show us His love
He gave us a shove
By washing His disciples’ feet one by one.

A man named Lazarus was so ill
His sisters were crying, it’s quite a thrill
But Jesus arrived late
And Lazarus he did raise
His faith was restored, ’twas quite a thrill!
