John 1.(1-9)10-18
In the beginning, light did appear,
With a Word that all hearts held dear.
Life sparkled and shone,
In darkness, it’s known,
A beacon of hope drawing near.
The world turned its back on the glow,
Yet the truth would still flourish and grow.
In flesh, it was found,
Grace and love all around,
A gift to the hearts that bestow. -
John 18.33-37
In a court where the questions were keen,
A ruler sought truth to be seen.
“Are you king?” he inquired,
With the crowd all inspired,
“To bear witness is why I convene.” -
John 11.32-end
In a town where the sorrow ran deep,
A friend was laid down for his sleep.
With tears in their eyes,
They questioned the skies,
Yet hope stirred where the faithful would weep.
He called to the one who had passed,
With love that would surely hold fast.
From the grave she arose,
In joy, hearts would close,
For life conquered death at long last. -

In a land where the fig trees grow,
A seeker approached with a glow.
He spoke of the light,
And visions so bright,
In truth, he would help us to know. -

There once was a man with great fame
Who spoke of eternal life’s claim
His words were profound
And many stuck around
For they knew he held the truth’s flame -
John 6.51-58
There once was a man from on high
Who said, “I am the bread of life”
He who eats this bread
Will live on instead
For my flesh is true food, no lie -

Who said, “I am the bread of life, you see”
The people did doubt
And they began to pout
But he promised to give them eternity -

He blessed them and broke

Who sought wisdom with all of his might
He came to Jesus and asked
About being reborn at last
And learned of God’s love shining bright
