Acts 2.1-21
The Holy Spirit came down one day
The Apostles were filled with dismay
But soon they began to speak
In languages so unique
And the crowd was filled with awe and dismay. -
Acts 1.6-14
A band of Apostles gathered round
To hear the message that was found
For Jesus soon would leave
But they his Spirit receive
And then the Spirit did abound -
Acts 17.22-31
A man from Athens heard a speech
That made him think and made him screech
He said to Paul, “What’s this?
It’s so different from bliss
It must be about the one true God’s reach -
Acts 7.55-end
Stephen stood tall and his voice was so strong
Though the crowd was in anger, he sang his own song
He saw Jesus in Heaven and said it was so
And the crowd was so angry they had to let him go
They stoned him without mercy, and his last words were “Lord!”
His death was a martyrdom, a story retold -
Acts 2.42-end
The church was devoted, they did not relent
They followed the teachings of Jesus’ intent
The apostles were teaching the word of the Lord
And the believers did not ignore His word
They shared what they had, and to each other they lent -
Acts 2.14a, 36-41
Peter said with voice so bold
“The Lord has raised from the dead
And God has given Him the throne
To David’s line He said
“Repent and be baptized, and you
Will have the gift of the Holy Ghost
For all your sins will be forgiven
And you will be saved at the most” -
Acts 2.14a, 22-32
Peter spoke of Jesus’ death
His followers feeling bereft
He said God had raised Him
To heaven He had blazed Him
And gave them His Spirit to accept -
Acts 10.34-43
There once was a man from Caesarea
Who heard a voice from up in the air-a
It said to him, “Do not fear
For I am sending you here
To preach the good news without any fear
